Good Road Cycling Shoes,
These are really nice shoes and they seem very well constructed. I like the top bucket ratchet as compared to a Velcro strap. The ratchet allows for precise adjustment of the top strap and can easily be adjusted when you’re in the saddle. They provide really good, not great, stiffness when accelerating and cranking in general. They are fairly comfortable but not great. I think the toe box is just a tad large on them. This does cause some minor toe discomfort after 2 + hours in the saddle. However, they have not given me any sores, blisters, or abrasions.
These are my first set of cycling shoes so I do not have anything else to compare them to for this review. I would say overall I am pleased with them minus the minor comfort issues I mentioned earlier in my review. I’m also wondering if my foot just needs to adjust to them like your sit bones have to adjust to a saddle when you haven’t ridden in quite some time. FYI… I’ve put on over 300 miles with these shoes thus far.

My husband purchased the Shimano 2012 Men’s Pro Tour Road Cycling Shoes – SH R106L (black 45) and has been very pleased. He is new to cycling and this is his first pair of shoes. He said the shoe fit is true to size and is made of quality durable material. He was also pleasantly surprised to find that the shoes came with the clip in plate b/c he purchased the plates thinking he needed to add them himself.

I am currently running shimano ultegra 6700 which i bought for 99 bucks on amazon which is a great price. The shimano 105 are almost the same but have cosmetic differences from the 6700.I seen them for around 65 bucks on amazon.Dura ace is the best bet if money isn’t an issue to you, i think i see those floating around the low 200 range.
